Trumpet Playing Robot
Imagine what this means for the instrument sampling industry; for the big orchestral sampling companies. Having truly perfect tones produced for recording and later sampling purposes… seems pretty useful to me. Not to mention, pretty stinking awesome.

I think people will still prefer human players for a long time to come. Perfect music is boring.
Still, I doubt that will stop Timbaland from looking into it.

When I read the title I thought it meant that the trumpet was playing the robot. THAT would be impressive.

I’m with Andrew. If perfect music was what people wanted, we’d all be listening to MIDI all the time.
There’s something spectacular about the brilliant and beautiful imperfection of a skilled human performer. This is one reason most prefer a real drummer to a drum machine.

Also, a very important question: so, this robot has lips?
